Professor Douglas Bushman
 ImageProf. Bushman holds a Licentiate Degree in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) granted by the Pontifical Faculty of Theology of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. For more than 25 years he has placed his theological education at the service of the Church in evangelization, catechesis, formation, and theology.
     He is Director of the Institute for Pastoral Theology at Ave Maria University, and teaches courses on Vatican II, Pope John Paul II, the Church, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Catholic Spirituality. Prior to that (1992-2001) he was Director of the Institute for Religious and Pastoral Studies at the University of Dallas, and before that he served as a parish Lay Theologian and a diocesan Director of Education, developing and teaching in programs of adult faith formation, formation for catechists, and formation for permanent deacons.
     Prof. Bushman is the author of the In His Image Program of Renewal through Education (Ignatius Press, 1989-90), and introductions for The Sixteen Documents of Vatican II (Pauline Books & Media, 1999). He contributed several articles to the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Catholic Apologetics and Evangelization (Ignatius Press), has written numerous articles for Catholic journals and magazines, and is a frequent guest on Catholic radio and television. He also contributed to the translation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church from the original French into English. He and his wife, JoAnn, have two children in college and homeschool their four remaining children in Green Bay, WI.
